Shatin Che Kung Temple, Hong Kong

Mum asked me what do I want to do on my birthday ie on 22 May. I told her that I wanted to visit a temple. Then she suggested Chi Kung Temple since it is on the way to where we wanted to go on that day. You may read about Chi Kung Temple here :)

Let me show you a few photos taken :)

Nice right? Actually, I did ask Mum to take the photo of General Che in the temple but Mum said NO. She worried that the authorities won't like it .. hehehe .. maybe next time, I will sneak in and take one. The Statue of General Che is so huge and it actually reached the roof of the temple!

Nice words from my ex- music teacher ..

My Year 4 music teacher has decided to move to Manila but before he left, he leaves something memorable for me.

This is what he wrote " ..... I have enjoyed teaching Misha, she has been a very enthusiastic and attentive student over the past two years, getting the most out of every musical experience I put in her path. I know she enjoys the performing arts and I am sure you will encourage and nurture her enthusiasm .........".

Thank you Mr Leggatt for all the things that you have taught me for last 2 years!

HSM2 @ Summer Musical School Programme @ HKAPA, HK

warning : this is a very long post - maybe boring to some of you :)

After watching the High School Musical 1 at Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA) last year, I told Mum that I would love to be a part of that team. I keep reminding Mum to enrol me with HKAPA once their Summer Musical School (SMS)'s application starts.

This year, SMS will stage High School Musical 2 and I am so looking forward to it :) Once the application is open, Mum asked me again whether I am interested. Of course, I am interested since I have waited for a year for that!! Mum printed the application for me and asked me to fill the form myself :) I filled up all the required particulars and Mum has to do two things ie (1) Issue a cheque of HK3700 as my fees and (2) to pay HK80 as processing fees. Mum said that HK80 will be used once HKAPA called me for audition but HK3700 will only be banked in if I am able to go through all the auditions requested by them.

I asked Dad to send the application form for me. I waited patiently for them to call me for audition. There will be two or three auditions for me to attend before I am able to join the SMS programme :(

Mum received an email a week before 23 May requesting me to go for 1st audition. And do you know something, there are about 500-600 people going for the 1st audition. This audition is open for kids from 9-21 years old and I am sure that you can guess - I will be in the YOUNGEST age !!!! I am quite worry about on how to "compete" with those older kids - anyway, like Mum said ... just try my best and she is sure that I will be ok :)

23 May 2009

The BIG day finally arrived. The audition was divided into 8 groups and each group will have about 60-70 participants. I am in the 2nd group! :)
What do I need to do for the 1st audition?
Group 2 is divided into 6 groups - 10 partipants in each group. We have to dance (as a group), then sing (as a group) and the last one is the one that I love most - sing individually :) I think I did sing very well.

this is ME - taken before 1st audition :) the one and only photo taken ... :)

When results to be made known?

The audition ended at about 1pm but we were told that by 9pm, HKAPA will email us and let us know the results. So, I think you can imagine, how restless I am from the time the audition ended till about 9pm. .. I really really hope that I can get through audition 1.

At about 930pm, the email came in and I GOT THROUGH!!! I am so proud! After the first round elimination, there will be about 160 participants to be divided into 3 groups! This will be tough and the 2nd audition will be held on 24 May - ie the next morning :( I am so excited yet so worry as I really wanted to join SMS very much :)

24 May 2009

Will be another long day. Reached HKAPA at about 11am. I need to go to Dance room to register then they will take my measurements etc etc. Still a bit scare but not as bad as yesterday at least now I know what they are expected of me. Was told that 20 of us will be informed on the spot whether we are able to go to Audition 3. Audition 3 is basically cater for main casts of HSM2 and Mum did say that they will not choose me because I am too young and I do not have any experience at all.

During the 2nd audition, all of us need to sing and dance together. It was so fun. At the end of the audition, the judges (there are about 6 of them) asked us to sit on the floor and told us that if our number is called then we are invited to go to 3rd audition otherwise we have to wait till 1/6 to see whether we pass 2nd audition or not. I am VERY dissapointed because my number is not called, like Mum said most of the partipants that are called are much older than me. Anyway, at that moment, I am quite happy that at least I am in 2nd audition. Not bad, right? But but .. I still want to go to 3rd audition.

When I came out from the dance room, Mum noticed that I am not happy. Mum said that it is ok .. do not need to worry and I should be happy at least, HKAPA asked me to come back for 2nd audition :) Well ... still unhappy :)

What I have to do now is to go back home and wait for the results. ... well, this is not as bad as 1st audition hahahaha :)

26 May 2009 @ 740pm

Mum asked me to come over and read something on her notebook. During that time, I am watching telly. I went over and saw .... something familiar. It is an email from HKAPA. I read through the email and then clicked on the attachment and I saw my name there!!!! I am so happy till there were tears ! I am so happy because I got through 2nd audition and I will be joining the others for High School Musical 2. I did not get any good role but was put under a group called "Makeover Artist" There are 19 students in the group and all of them are seniors except four of us. .... but but ... I think I am the youngest !! I felt so proud that I got through all the auditions!!!

NOW, I can't wait wait for the day to arrive. Mum told me to get ready as this program is quite tough. We have to attend classes for 3 weeks (Monday to Saturday) from 10am to 5pm everyday. Not easy but I really looking forward to it!

Even though, HKAPA offered me a very small part, I am still looking forward to it as it is really a stepping stone for me. I am sure that with the experiences and knowledge that I will gain later, I will definately get better roles! Wish me luck ok? Oh yeah, if you are interested to read more about this SMS, do visit here ok? (hehehe .. you can also see my name there .. muahahaha)

London Trip @ 22-29 January 2009 (Day 2 - Part 1) Breaskfast @ Churreria Espanola, Bayswater

23 January 2009

We woke up quite early in the morning. Since it was winter when we were there, the sky got bright quite early :) And bad thing is that when we were in London, it rained everyday!! Which is very difficult for you to move around :(

Ok .. once we were ready to leave the house, Dad told us that he will bring us to a nearby place to have breakfast. He went there before with his colleagues during his last trip to London so he is quite familiar with this area.

The place that we are going is called Churreria Espanola. It serves many different types of breakfast and guess what we had ordered :)

Churros
Thick hot chocolate
Thick hot chocolate with churros
Mum's breakfast
Dad's breakfast
And ... MINE!!!

OUR first Breakfast in LONDON!
