Tournament of Minds, HK @ 240309

I am so happy to blog about this.

Together with my 6 other team mates, we represented our school for the Tournament of Minds competition (TOM). You may read more here. We had been practising very hard for the last 6 weeks - lots of arguing and lots of fun times!

Yesterday, we did our presentation infront of 3 judges, even though we did not win the main prize but we are happy because we created history for our school! We are the 1st batch of TOM Team!!!

I am so happy :)

I hope to join the TOM competition again next year :) Let's have a look at the following photos :)

I can't wait to go for another round of competition!

Chinese Homework #2 @ 130308

Following was my 2nd chinese homework. Let's read !

今天是星期天. 我是很愉快因為我的外公和外婆来到香港拜访我.他們在星期五晚上,坐飛機來看我.

在星期五，在滑冰的類后，我與我的爸爸和媽媽去機場帶我的外公和外婆回家. 我們坐公共汽車到機場. 在晚上7:40分,我們离开我們的房子到達機場. 在晚上 8:40分, 我們到了機場. 旅途是大约一個小時。它是一令人疲勞的旅途，但是它是樂趣因為在公共汽車上我可以讀書. 一旦我們到達機場，我看見了耐心等待我的外公和外婆. 我非常開心看到他們. 我跑到我的外公邊說「你好嗎?」. 外公非常驚奇我可以說普通話. 他對我說"我很好." 外公說我的普通話改善了很多. 我聽了很開心! 在談話以後,我們出租汽車回家. 一旦到了家，媽媽給我們紅豆湯吃. 我喜歡媽媽的紅豆湯.我們及早上床,因為外公和外婆累.

在星期六早晨，我早醒了并且去我的外公和外婆室把他們吵醒. 我說"早晨好" .牠們很開心看到我. 刷了牙然后,我帮媽媽準備早餐. 我煎雞蛋，多士麵包并且做热巧克力給我的爸爸、媽媽,外公和外婆。外公和外婆說我是一個好女孩，因為我帮助我的媽媽準備早餐. 在早餐以後，我的外公和外婆帶我去體操類。他們等待了我直到類結束。他們看見我跳，跑，滾動和跳并且. 外公說我是活躍小女孩. 在我的體操類結束，我上我的長笛類音乐课在馬鞍山。我的音乐教师是陳老師. 她是一位好老師。

在音乐课以後，我們去沙田吃午餐。我們吃印第安烹調。我們吃雞、魚、菜和麵包. 吃好了，我們回家。当我們到家，我和我的外公玩卡片。然後, 外公帶我去操場 去玩. 外婆休息 因為她很 累. 在晚上7:00，我們准备好去吃晚餐. 你是否知道我們去那里吃晚餐嗎? 我們去香格里拉大酒店旅館吃晚餐; 因為今天是我的媽媽的生日. 我們吃了大蝦、牡蠣、炒饭和許多蛋糕. 我非常喜歡牠們的食物。我們也唱生日快乐歌給我的媽媽. 在晚上10:00, 我們回家.我是很累不果非常開心.

Chinese Homework #1 @ 070309

Every friday, after school I have to write a chinese diary of about 200 words or more. It is quite stressful when I need to do this particular chinese as my chinese is not good at all. I only started to join this Chinese Native Language Class about 6 months ago. For the last 2 years I have attended another chinese class ie Chinese Foreign Language Class where I learnt simplified chinese where as in CNL, I have to learn Traditional Chinese which I think is more complicated and difficult to learn. Anyway, the CNL class is a very good class especially I have a very good and supportive Chinese teacher.

The following is my 3rd diary. The first diary that I have written was about "School Sports Day" whereas the 2nd one was about "School - Field Trip". Teacher told us that we can write anything we want for this 3rd diary. I have decided to write something about my best friend. Below is my 3rd diary. Let's read. (Remember to read with open mind as I am sure there are lots of mistakes but like Mum said - at least I have tried :) Let me know whether my chinese is good or not ok?

我的好朋友.

今天, 我的朋友,Ashley, 來我的家玩 因為我們不用上學。她是一個馬來西亞人不果她住在香港上學。在上午9:30分, Ashley 和 她的媽媽 到達了我的家。因為她是我的好朋友, 她的媽媽說 Ashley 可以呆在这里,因此她的媽媽可以去工作.

首先,我們做了某一圖畫。她畫一條狗 不果我畫一朵花。她的狗是黑和白色.我的花是紅色和藍色. 我喜歡她的狗。我們 讓媽媽 看我們的花和狗.媽媽說「你們畫了很好。」然後，我們在我的臥室玩了一些棋。我們非常樂趣。玩了, 媽媽給我們吃冰淇凌。我吃蘋果冰淇凌不果Ashley吃橙冰淇凌. 在下午12:00, 媽媽說「來!我們去馬鞍山吃我們的午餐！」。我們去中國餐館.我們吃飯、吃魚和喝湯。我喜歡吃魚。吃好了, 我們回家。在下午2:00, 我帶Ashley 去游泳池,游泳。在游泳池的水很冷不 果 我們 玩到很樂趣。我們有游泳競爭。Ashley 贏了因為我游很慢。她是一位好游泳者。在游泳以後, 我們回家了。我們是非常疲倦。媽媽親一些熱的飲料給我們. 當我們到達了家，我們开始讀故事書。 我和Ashley愛讀書! 在正餐時間, Ashley的媽媽來接她回家。

今天是非常樂趣，但是令人疲勞的天。 我希望再看到Ashley! 我將想念她!

So, can you actually understand what I am trying to write? Hehehe .. .. if you don't, do let me know so that I can try to change in future :) It might sounded funny at certain parts but I think I have done my best :)

Class Field Trip To Trio Beach, Sai Kung @ 27 February 2009

My classmates and I together with a few parent helpers went for a field trip today. This particular field trip was related to what we are doing for our unit of inquiry ie Landforms. We are asked to go to Trio Beach near Sai Kung.

We started our journey at about 9am after our class teacher took out attendance. We took a bus there. Reached Lion Educational Centre at about 930am and from there we need to walk to Trio Beach. We took about 1 hour to walk to the beach which I think was very very tiring and stressful!

We have to walk in single line because the road is very narrow :( and once we reached the jungle, the walkings became very bad. We have to go up and down and I am very very tired :( Many of my friends were very scare during that time because it was not easy to walk and the sands were really slippery!

But we felt very happy when we saw the beach. The beach is very lovely. Before, we started our activities, our class teacher let us have our snacks first. We are all so thirsty and hungry!

our #1 activity - we have to build a small sand castle and pour some water. we have to observe what happen to the sand that flows down from the top.

we also test whether dry sand or damp sand is easier to blow

one of the activity - i love this the most. we can go into the sea (until ankle level only). This activity was to find out why the sand can move towards us when the water moves towards us
so .. can you guess which one is me?

After we have completed all the activities, we are all so tired. We had our lunch and rested for a while. Then, we have to start our journey back to the bus.

Once we reached the bus, all of us are very happy but very tired :( Overall, it was a eventful trip but a tiring one! I do not wish to walk that far next time!

Guitar Hero World Tour

Dad wanted to buy a drum for our guitar hero xbox since we already have 2 guitars and a mic. Since the drum comes with a guitar/mic and a game, Dad has no choice but to buy the whole set :( But, it is ok .. we will have extra of everythings!

Simple Seafood Dinner On 28 February 2009

Dad told me that he will bring us to a special place to have seafood dinner tonight. I am so excited :) I love to go to new place to try out their food :)

This restaurant is located near Prince Edward MTR Station. It is a very simple restaurant but there are many people there!

We ordered the following (Mum has again warned Dad not to order too much - worry that we cannot finish them!)

vegetables fried with garlic
steamed chicken .. yummy yummy

my favourite scallops - we ordered another plate actually since I have eaten 5 piece of them!

I love the food very much and asked Dad to bring me back there again. :)

Tournament of Minds Team

Just received a letter from the Vice Principal stating that I have been chosen to be one of the members for the Tournament of Minds Team. We will be representing our school at the finals on 24 March 2009.

If we wins the competition ie on 24 March 2009, we will be invited to Australia for the Australasian Pacific Final on 24 October 2009.

Wish me good luck ok?

Grandparents in HK !

YES! My gong gong and poh poh are coming to HK to visit me! They will be here from 13 March to 29 March 2009.

I am SOoo happy :) I love to spend time with them.
